100 km – Registration and transport to the Race Start

Welcome to Nepal!

Race day is nearly here. Here is some information for registration and reaching the start line.
Registration 

Thursday 10am – 12pm & 2pm – 6pm at the Garden Cafe & Homestay, 300 m from the Freedom Adventures Office nr Hallan Chow, Lakeside Pokhara (google map link) and see map attached. There will be a check of your obligatory equipment (listed below) before you can collect your race number, timing chip & race t-shirt. Make sure you have it with you! You will be given a bag to use as your drop bag, please make sure it is clearly marked with your race number. This will be available for you at CP 7 Kade (56.6 km). Registration should be fast & then you can have a cup of tea and enjoy meeting some other runners. Please register in Pokhara if possible. But if necessary you can also register in Dhampus, the location will be close to the finish line and will be sign-posted.

 

Obligatory equipment
  • water bottles or bladder to carry minimum 1 litre
  • mobile phone (with the emergency number dialled in)
  • jacket (windproof or waterproof)
  • emergency blanket
  • buff or warm hat
  • whistle
  • headtorch (with spare batteries for 55 & 100 km)
  • Rs 2000 (emergency money)
  • 400 calories emergency food
  • warm long sleeved top [100 km only]
  • running tights over the knee [100 km only]

 

Transport to Dhampus
There will be buses from Lakeside, Pokhara to the start line in Dhampus. These will leave from the Busy Bee Cafe (google map link) at the times below. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early and keep to the bus you selected. Please be aware that roads in Nepal aren’t what you are used to. It is only a short distance but the bus journey will take about 2 hours and some of it will be rough!

Dhampus accommodation

The facilities in Dhampus are mostly simple! Your hotel details will be confirmed by email Thursday morning and also available at race registration (unless you have booked independently). There will also be volunteers in Dhampus to help with any questions. Evening meal and breakfast will be in your hotel. Please make sure you pay on Friday evening to save time before the race start on Saturday.

 

Annapurna Marathon finishers
The runners in the Annapurna Marathon and the elites from the Golden Trail Series will be finishing in Dhampus from 12pm. Come to the finish line and support them!

 

Race start ~4am
Bring your baggage to the start line. It will be transported to Pokhara for collection at the finish line. Please make sure you use the baggage tag provided in your race envelope. Please also deposit your dropbag to be taken to CP7 Kade. (This will be brought back to Pokhara after the race and available for collection from the Freedom Adventures Office, Hallenchowk, Pokhara on Sunday morning.) You must have your timing chip scanned as you enter the start area. The area will be open from 20 minutes before the start, once you are inside you cannot leave! There will be a very short briefing before you start.
