Lizzy Hawker to run in the Annapurna 100
We’re really please to announce that Lizzy Hawker will be coming to Nepal to compete in the Annapurna 100 2011 before heading over to the Vibram HK 100 Ultra in Hong Kong. And coming from Hong Kong we have Michael Maddess from Action Asia Events. Both will be running a long side some very, very talented local runners, including Phu Dorje Lama Sherpa (just won the 21 day Himal race from Mount Kailash to Annapurna BC), Sudip Rai (came 2nd in the Kinabalu climbathon this year) and Ngima Yangjee Sherpa (young Sherpani that won several races in France recently).
Among the other competitors (full list not yet available) an 11-time Spartathlon participant, and a six-time Sri Chinmoy 3100 miler, both of which are feats almost beyond comprehension.
The organising team have put in a big effort to make this race a success. To have these atheletes come and compete makes us very proud indeed. And to have respected companies such as Standard Chartered, Sherpa Adventure Gear and Dragon Air also get behind us gives us great confidence for the future. Thanks for your support!
